“What rolls down stairs alone or in pairs/rolls over your neighbor’s dog?/What’s great for a snack and fits on your back?/It’s log! Log! Log!/It’s log, it’s log, it’s big, it’s heavy, it’s wood./It’s log, it’s log, it’s better than bad, it’s good!/Everyone wants a log! You’re gonna love it, log!/Come on and get your log! Everyone needs a log!”
You may or may not recognize these lyrics depending on if your childhood was as weird as mine. Actually, I had a pretty normal childhood. I grew up in suburbia with my grandmother, mother, and one brother. My uncles and their families live close by. I played sports growing up and was a fairly good student. But when I came home from school, these are the kind of songs I was hearing as I zoned out in front of the endless flashing pictures on the boob tube. No good. But what’s more interesting is that when I watch all the shows now that I used to watch then, man are they not what I remember them being. Maybe it’s all about perspective. I mean, Spongebob isn’t the tamest show, so I can see how it’s enjoyable for kids and adults. But with shows like Ren and Stimpy and Rocko’s Modern Life as the staples for me growing up, I can’t help but wonder if those images flowing into my brain on a day to day basis had some influence on how I grew up and developed a personality. It’s a little bit scary.

Its kinda crazy to think about college. I think all the time about when my life has ever been like this before and that it will never be like this again. These four years are unlike anything you will experience. I think that should be a goal of mine, make every four years extraordinarily different in some fashion or another. If you think about it humans wont be on earth forever, sorry to inform you. I'm going to do as much as I can while I'm here. O yea back to college. What is it we do here? Go to class maybe play a sport, socialize till odd hours of the morning, learn about cool things, and take leaps and bounds in gaining knowledge of all sorts. At the end of it you get a piece of paper whith you name and someone who signs in agreement that you did everything they wanted you to. I think im going to make a certificate for every four year phase of my life, but it will only have my name on it.
